Kayleigh and Andrew chose what turned out to be one of the hottest days of the year for their wedding last month. The temperature was already in the high twenties as I arrived at Kayleigh’s parents home in Loxhore were the bridal party were getting ready. The garden was looking immaculate despite the scorching weather and gave me lots of scope for photographs. The bridesmaids then the bride and her Dad left for the short journey to the church in an open-topped carriage pulled by two magnificent black horses (sporting red plumes) courtesy of Ben Ford carriages. The colour theme for the wedding was based on the couple’s favourite football team Arsenal, with the bridesmaids looking stunning in their red dresses and the bride’s bouquet contrasting beautifully against her figure hugging ivory wedding gown. After the service the guests gathered outside for the group photos in the sweltering heat and looked on as the bride and groom left the churchyard in the horse and carriage. After some more photographs in a nearby open field we transferred to the car and started to make our way to Bratton Fleming where a helicopter would be waiting to take the couple to their reception venue. By chance we came across a very picturesque gateway and stream which provided an unexpected photo opportunity. Whilst posing Kayleigh, the owners of the nearby cottage appeared with a tray of cold drinks for us which was a lovely touch and much needed! As we reached the Bratton Fleming sports field the helicopter was just landing and the gust of wind coming from the blades provided relief from the very hot conditions with temperatures now in excess of 30 degrees. I boarded with the couple and got some great shots of them and the views over the North Devon countryside as we headed towards Stoodleigh Court near Tiverton and their waiting guests. Before the wedding breakfast got underway I took the newlyweds for a walk around the lovely grounds for some natural romantic shots then returned them to the cool of the magnificent old manor house.
After a returning from a honeymoon in the Seychelles Kayleigh and Andrew sent us this message…
“The vision we’d had of our Wedding day was realized and surpassed by the day itself, Glorious sunshine, beautiful locations and an amazing cake! But amongst all the glitz, the Mustang and the helicopter, it was the loving atmosphere created by our wonderful friends and family that really made our day so very special, it wouldn’t have been the same without you. All you need is love!”
